We often get asked what's the difference between a Versaclimber Home Model and a Versaclimber Club Sport or Refurbished Versaclimber machine, so here's the answer:
Home Vs Professional
The Home model is slightly shorter (90 inches) than the professional model (94 inches) to accomodate ceilings in most modern homes and the main body is made from Aluminium rather than steel to be lighter and easier to move around. The drive system in the home model is based upon a less costly friction belt rather than the chain and hydraulic brake found in the professional models. Other differences are that the resistance is fixed and maximum step distance very slightly shorter than the 20 inches found on the professional models as a result of the reduced height.
The Club model is geared so that the hands move double the distance of the feet (2:1) to accomodate the widest range of users whereas the Home and Sport models the distance is equal (1:1) for each movement which provides a more intense workout and is usually more suitable for regular users.
Collection or Delivery ?
You can collect from the showroom near West Birmingham by appointment or we can deliver.
Assembly can be done yourself or we can install in your home and show you how to use and maintain it which we recommend particularly for first time users. For self-installation although it is possible with one person we recommend two people to make it easier; you will also need an imperial socket set, allen keys and adjustable wrench for assembly.
Refurbished or Second-Hand ?
When no refurbished machines are available we run a waiting list but it can get lengthy so realistically we'd suggest either a home model or a new professional model if you have any time constraints.
We strongly advise against buying professional models second hand without first having being fully refurbished or without a comprehesive warranty as most machines will have been used heavily in a professional gym environment and might require extensive work to make them safe or fully operational.
