It's long been a problem with modern sports shoes that a combination of sweat and synthetic materials combine to make some pretty astounding odours. Rock shoes are nearly always worn barefoot so during the act of climb an unusually large number of skin cells along with other bacteria and of course sweat gets deposited in them. In the worst cases this can greate a greasy interior and at best usually results in unpleasant odours and the potential to pass on infections - particularly when using hire shoes.
Paxtons to the rescue ... original inventors of the stuff the US army use to clean combat armour between sweaty GI's and more recently the very successful Paxtons Sandal Saver. Some of Paxtons staff are also keen climbers so were only too aware of the complaints and turned their sights on combatting the problem. The Result: Paxtons Climbing Cleaner.
