The ultralight Pertex jacket range produced by Montane are probably the best known and most loved garments from their range. With various versions available ranging from simple smocks to specialised garments for cycling, adventure racing or running are the ultimate lightweight wind proof and weather resistant jackets in the world. The Featherlite Marathon Jacket has been reviewed by Runners World recently and scored a whopping 9 out of 10 with a summary that we can only totally agree with:

This jacket has been aptly named - it wasn't officially the lightest on test, but running in it felt as though you were wearing an invisible shield. Side vents and a super-lightweight nylon (Pertex) fabric gave superb breathability; a drop tail protected against high mud splashes, and the jacket coped very well with both wind and water in a short squall. The fitted cut and elasticated hems and cuffs made for a secure, rustle-free and super-comfortable fit. The other advantage is that it packs away very compactly into it's own stuff sac.
