I know politics is dull compared to climbing mountains, but regardless of your political views the current general election in the UK is possibly the most important one in our lifetimes and could change Britian forever. I'm old enough to have seen many governments of Tory and Labour and they have both gradually become almost indistinguishable and as corrupt and meaningless as one another. Also there has been a massive shift in the types of jobs and lifestyles in Britian over the years that has meant we all feel much more comfy than back in the 70's so feel less 'needy' as a result. That, I believe, has led to apathy among voters and a rise in the apparent support for extremist parties and a system where government has almost unchallenged, managed to make our society a more isoloated and fearful place than it should be. THERE IS A CHOICE...but YOU need to help make it by exercising your right to vote.
There is a massive amount of wasted Parliament effort planned by the leading parties. For example the Torys would like to see a return hunting / bloodsports return to the countryside, there are of course two views to this and both sides have well studied arguments but in my view this is a well settled debate that has been acted upon and we should not be wasting time on it when there are far more important issues facing the UK today that affect a great deal more people.

DON'T FORGET: the Torys screwed us royally with the house ownership scam and couldnt give a fig about our social services while Labour has sent us into illegal and immoral war and still allows the bankers totake stupid bonuses while the rest of us will have to pay something like £40,000 per person in additional taxes to reciver from the bankers mess. To add insult to injury both main parties have pilfered millions over the years though their wild expenses, so why on earth should we allow either of them to have another chance in power. It really IS time for a change.

According to the polls a large number of voters have already realised the issues that face us  but that's not enough; the result at the moment looks to be a a hung parliament which will be a stagnant mess that we cannot allow to happen if we care at all about where we live.

This could be the first election in our lifetime where we genuinely get to make a difference. Its time NOW to stop being a spectator and PLEASE dont waste your vote. Even if you normally abstain, USE YOUR VOTE becuase otherwise BNP and other factions will get a proportionally higher representation than they deserve. If you cant decide who to vote for then at least help keep these nasties out of power.

In my opinion, REGARDLESS of your individual political view, for this election Liberal is the right vote. If nothing else it might wake up the other two parties to the fact that they have failed us and are no longer trusted to represent our views.
