Around 120 of the world's top boulderers will be in Sheffield in July for the IFSC Bouldering World Cup.The Sheffield round of the World Cup is one of 7 events worldwide, the other rounds being in America, The Netherlands, Austria, Germany, Russia and Switzerland. The World Cup is being held at the Cliffhanger event at Millhouses Park over two days, Saturday and Sunday, 3rd and 4th of July in the same humungous marquee as last year’s British Bouldering Championships (BBC's).The BBC's themselves will be held a week before the World Cup, 26-27 June, in the same marquee (free entry).
Cliffhanger , now in its 4th year, has quickly grown into the UK’s biggest outdoor event for outdoor people with Climbing, Kayaking, Orienteering, Caving, Fell Running, Adventure Racing, Scuba Diving, Mountain Biking, Mountain Boarding, Kite Flying, Angling, Bushcraft, Parkour, Slacklining, and plenty, plenty more on offer.
Once in the event (£5 for adults, kids under 16 free) virtually all of the activities, demonstrations and competitions are free to watch or take part in – the aim being to inspire and enthuse, then provide the facility to have-a-go. The formula has proved to be so effective that over the past three years 100% of visitors said that they would come again and would recommend to a friend.
